Last night Antoni Bayés Genís received the Josep Trueta Scientific Research Award at the Academy of Health and Medical Science of Catalonia and Balear Islands.
In the same ceremony, Santiago Roura, ICREC group researcher, received a research grant for the project Comparative Study of Immunoreactivity Exhibited by Adult and Perinatal Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells.
Several members of the iCor have attended the HF congress in Athens this last weekend. Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital was the 4th European hospital in number of communications with 17 posters, rapid fires, and oral sessions. Two of them were selected for the congress highligths:
Novel wearable vest for tracking pulmonary congestion in acutely decompensated heart failure: pilot study in the Clinical Highlights by Paloma Gastelurrutia et al, and Physiological conditioning of human cardiomyocyte progenitor cells driven by electrial stimulation in the Basic & Translational Science session by Aida Llucia-Valldeperas et al.
What is more, one of the Cardiology Interns, Carles Diez, at our department was awarded for his research as Young Investigator:

Paloma Gastelurrutia, in charge of the translational research at the ICREC group, has received the Iberoamerican Pharmacy Academy 2013 award “Ilustre Colegio Oficial de Farmacéuticos de Cádiz”. The award ceremony was held last January 2014. Furthermore, this month she has received the Best PhD award, VII National Call, Hefame Foundation (1st of October 2008-31st of October 2011).
